Summer is a time to be tan, glowy, and fully hydrated. There’s nothing worse than being caught on the beach without mineral sunscreen or your favorite lip balm. Here’s everything I actually keep in my beach bag to stay sun-protected, hydrated, and cute from morning sun to golden hour.

Let’s break it down: skincare, a little makeup, hair helpers, and just enough extras to keep things low-maintenance but still cute.

1. Tinted Sunscreen

Instead of layering makeup, I go straight for a tinted sunscreen that does double duty — coverage and protection. My favorite right now is the EltaMD UV Daily Tinted Broad-Spectrum, which has SPF 40, medium coverage, and doesn’t melt off in the heat.

2. Hydrating Lip Balm with SPF

Lips can burn too, and nothing’s worse than dry, cracked, or even swollen lips from the sun. I love using a balm with SPF 30 and a hint of tint — it adds that effortless flush while keeping your pout protected.

Try: Sun Bum Tinted Lip Balm or Supergoop! Sheer SPF 30 Lipscreen

 3. Refreshing Face Mist

Heat + sun = a desperate need for a mid-day refresh. A travel-size face mist is the easiest way to hydrate, cool down, and keep your skin clean.

Current favorite: Tower 28 SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray & Caudalie Beauty Elixir

 4. Lightweight Body Sunscreen

This one’s a no-brainer. I keep a spray and lotion sunscreen in my bag for easy reapplication, especially on shoulders, chest, and back

My favorites are: Sun Bum SPF 50 & Blue Lizard Spray Sunscreen

5. Sunglasses, Hair Clip, & Hat

Not “beauty” products per se, but they save the look. A hair clip or scrunchie keeps things cute and sweat-free, while sunglasses, and a cute baseball hat protect your face and give off beach glam vibes.

My favorites are: Epic Extra Large Tortoise Claw Clip & Classic Logo “Favorite Daughter” Hat

Packing a few intentional beauty items makes the whole day more comfortable and effortless. With these in your beach bag, you’re prepped to protect your skin, glow naturally, and feel fresh all day long — no stress, no sunburns, and no regrets.
